About Lesley Sevillena

In 2013, I got divorced and found myself lost and unable to manage my life physically and mentally. I was never taught any life skills to manage my stress and here I was, with two kids (5 and 3) trying to figure it all out alone. I knew at the time I had to prioritize my health in order to take care of my kids.

I saw many doctors to help me with how I was feeling, only to be dismissed as a stressed-out working mom with two kids. No one was listening or had any interest to dive deeper into providing me with any tools to feel like myself again. In the five minutes of time they gave me, the only solution any doctor would ever provide was in the form of a pill (and it was always the birth control pill).

I was determined to do my own research and begin a path to healing.

I began meditating, reading, listening to podcasts, and eating healthier. I made a lot of lifestyle changes and began to heal physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. At that point in my life, my driving force was to ensure that my son and daughter had the knowledge that I was only now discovering through my own personal experiences.

How Healing Mindfully all started…

Healing Mindfully was born during a season of my life when I hit what felt like rock bottom. On paper, everything looked “fine.” I was a mom, a healthcare professional, and a Clinical Director in physical therapy. But inside, I knew I wasn’t living my optimal life. I was exhausted, overwhelmed, and struggling in ways I didn’t have answers for. I kept asking myself, Is this just how aging feels? Deep down, I knew the answer was no.

Navigating my own health made it clear how broken and reactive our healthcare system can be for women, especially in midlife. There was very little education, prevention, or support that looked at the whole picture. That experience is what led me to create Healing Mindfully in 2021.

Today, I help midlife women build strong, resilient bodies through a proactive, 360-degree approach to health. My work focuses on sustainable habits, custom exercise, proper nutrition, toxin reduction, and improving bone density to help prevent fractures as we age. I believe women deserve to feel informed, empowered, and supported before developing a chronic disease.

I know I’m not the only woman who feels confused about where to start or overwhelmed by conflicting health advice. I also know how deeply many of us want to be strong role models for our children. Healing Mindfully began as a space for moms and has evolved into a mission to help all midlife women protect their health, strength, and independence for the long term.

I share my story to remind women that prioritizing their health is possible and worth it. I understand how hard it can feel to begin, and I’m here to make that journey clearer, more supportive, and achievable. Healing Mindfully is about progress, not perfection—and helping you build a healthier future with intention.
